It seems that Samsung is working on Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy Note which is rumored to be arriving in March. Android 4.0 will be the most help to the Galaxy Note and S II, as both will get the major phone interface changes. On a tablet, the changes are subtler and mostly include updated core apps, face unlock, and others that aren’t dependent on the screen size.
Now, users can already download a leaked Android 4.0 XXLP1 build for the Galaxy Note, but it is still in the test stage firmware. This rom is a early CUSTOM rom by Samsung based on Android 4.0.3 and we expect this ROM will still have many bugs. Before that happens, however, you can have a look at how the handset plays along with Ice Cream Sandwich, in the video here. This ROM still in Test Stage and lot of function still cant work properly!
This new ROM flash procedure will wipe all your apps, data and settings. So, you can backup all your data apps via titanium Backup pro or other backup application to your external SD card.
Do not unplug your Galaxy Note USB Cable from your PC during the firmware installation. If the Odin stuck during the installation process, then you need to close the Odin and open the Odin again, then follow the same step to flash Android 4.0 on your Galaxy Note. If the problem remain same, then restart your PC and repeat the step to flash Android 4.0 for your Galaxy Note. Again, do not unplug your Galaxy Note USB Cable from your PC during the firmware installation.
What you need:
Android 4.0.3 for Samsung Galaxy Note: N7000XXLP1_N7000OXALP1_OXA
- You need install Samsung USB Drivers or Samsung software Kies. (Do not open Samsung’s PC software Kies. If Odin still not detect your Galaxy Note, then you have to stop the kies at your PC at the System Configuration (RUN>>msconfig) and then restart your PC.)
Now you can start
Step 1 : Extract the Galaxy Note Android 4.0 XXLP1 firmware to your pc and you will get these files
Step 2: Turn Off your PC Galaxy Note and then put your Galaxy Note into download Mode by press and hold these keys together: Volume_down+Home+Power.
Make sure that you have place the correct file on the Odin,
Put the files like this in Odin:
Click the PIT tab, and select the file Q1_20110919_32GB.pit
Click the PDA tab, and select the file N7000_CODE_N7000XXLP1_CL88317_REV02_user_mid_noship.tar.md5
Click MODEM tab, and select the file MODEM_N7000XXLP1_REV_05_CL1098475.tar.md5
Click the CSC tab, and select the file GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-OXALP1.tar.md5
Step 3: Now, press START button to start installing the XXLP1 on your Galaxy Note
Step 4: When process at Odin finishes your phone will reboot into recovery mod then you reboot (reboot system) Galaxy Note. That’s all.
