Samsung To Launch 2Ghz Galaxy Tablet At Mobile World Congress, But Release of Samsung Galaxy S3 May Be Postponed

Samsung Concept Tablet

There’s some really big news hovering around as the Mobile World Congress draws closer.  German site TabTech.de is reporting that Samsung will most likely be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February 2012. It is reporting that Samsung is planning to launch its own retina-display tablet that will carry a screen with resolution as high as 2560 x 1600.

Apple and Samsung seem are preparing tablets for next version with double the screen resolution of the current iPad and Galaxy Tab. According to the many rumors that we have heard so far, iPad 3 will sport a display with resolution of 2048×1536 which is far less than what Samsung is reportedly aiming for, ie. 2560 x 1600. But this could also be due to the large screen size as the report suggests that Samsung’s tablet will have a 11.6″ screen which is 1.5″ bigger than the iPad. The report also claims that the tablet will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

So how about Samsung Galaxy s3 and iPhone 5? According to T3, Samsung has officially confirmed the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S3 for the first time revealing that it is “still reviewing” when to launch the device.

“We are still reviewing several options when to launch,” Samsung’s SVP of Marketing, Younghee Lee said when directly questioned about the Samsung Galaxy S3 release during the company’s recent quarterly earnings call. via
