Tethering is a process by means of which the internet connection of an internet capable mobile handset is shared with other devices. The other devices may be PC. Laptops, or other mobile handsets. This sharing of the internet connection can be done over the wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), over Bluetooth, or even by the use of a physical connection using a cable. .I have searched high and low for Android Wi-Fi Tethering Apps. Android Wi-Fi Tethering Apps lets you use your phone as a wireless hotspot. This allows users to bypass carriers’ built-in Wi-Fi hotspot software, which is especially helpful on phones that come with unreliable hotspot apps, such as the HTC Thunderbolt.
Wi-Fi Tethering doesn’t seem to be too difficult to find for devices like Windows Mobile. I also know that this feature is available for iPhones that are jail broken. Yet Android Wi-Fi Tethering Apps seemed to be of non existent for (non Rooted) Android. Luckily, as long as you are determined to find something, you will be able to find it.
Today, Koushik Dutta, creator of ClockworkMod and ROM Manager releases a new app – ClockworkMod Tether. ClockworkMod Tether designed to be easy to use on a Mac, Windows, or Linux computer and has some pretty key features, such as does not require root and does not require a separate tethering plan. Koushik Dutta said that,
“Over the last month, I’ve been working on a new app. Tether Alpha is a USB tether solution for Mac, Windows, and Linux that allows you to use your phone’s data connection to get internet access on your desktop or laptop.
ClockworkMod Tether does not require root on your phone and does not require a separate tethering plan. Tether should work with any carrier and phone, and is not blockable or detectable by carriers”
ClockworkMod Tether is still in the early testing or Alpha phases and Koushik Dutta is looking feedback, and here is the Download link.
