Nokia N9 focuses on the most important things that people do: use apps, get notifications and switch between different activities. As far as mobile mapping goes, Google Maps for Android offers one of the best experiences you can get. Compare with other Mobile Maps Application such as Papago Navigation and  Nokia Maps for Android, Google Maps offer you the complete and accuracy Maps info that you need.  It also tells you how to get where you want to go by car, public transport, good old-fashioned shoe leather, and now, by bike. Voice-guided navigation takes you turn by turn, and voice search keeps your typing fingers fresh. A variety of add-ons layers information on top of the base map, so you can view things like traffic, transit lines, and your favorite places on the map.

Designed by Tap Mobile LTD, Iron Wars game for Android is “an exciting battle between fabulous iron balls,” a description which I could not love much more. After a bout of immature giggling, I opened Iron Wars. It’s definitely got the futuristic look, cool graphics and “ready to rumble” music thing going, which I appreciate.

Iron Wars  is not your ordinary top-down shooter. You do all your shooting while in command of a tiny sphere that rolls around the map with a variety of weapons at your disposal. (more…)

I’m a big fan of a 7-inch tablets, which I think are more practical for everyday use than 10-inch models. That’s because the Galaxy Tab is small enough that apps simply blown up a little bit still fundamentally work.  If you take Android apps and scale them up for the Tab, the majority of them—Twitter, Facebook, Angry Birds—work perfectly.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the latest devices from Samsung. It comes with the revolutionary S Pen — which allows users to use the “stylus” as as input devices to create content and media, previously unavailable to swipe and touch interfaces.  Using the stylus, users should be able to draw, edit, write and scribble on the phone from virtually any app. Some of the apps already developed for the device already allow for multi-party conferences with a white board (very practical for business meetings).
