Samsung To Launch Android Flexible Displays Smartphones In 2012
Flexible displays are attractive for several reasons: lighter than glass displays, making it possible to build larger consumer devices, such ase-readers or tablet that aren’t too heavy. Flexible displays can also be used in some novel applications, such as interactive newspapers that can be bent or rolled and be as portable as the paper-based versions.
Samsung have been trying to come up with a way to make flexible displays as it can be bent, rolled and folded like a sheet of paper.
According to pcworld, “The flexible display, we are looking to introduce sometime in 2012, hopefully the earlier part,” said company spokesman Robert Yi during an earnings call earlier today.
