Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Not Coming To LG Optimus 2x
The LG Optimus 2X is presented as the first and fastest dual-core smartphone on the market. Code-named the LG Star, the “2x” is for twice the power and twice the speed. The phone’s dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a first in the smartphone world. With great power comes great multimedia promise, as the phone boasts a stunning 4-inch WVGA screen, 8GB of internal memory (up to 32GB with microSD), HDMI mirroring, DLNA support, an accelerometer, a gyro sensor, and 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 playback and recording.
Although LG Optimus 2X has to be one of high-level of Android smartphones, , but a statement from the Korean electronics giant begs to differ.
Recently the handset-maker confirmed on Facebook that the Optimus 2X will not receive the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update,
“We will not be introducing Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich updates on LG Optimus 2X P990. Keep watching this space for further updates.”
Why? The handset manufacturer did not give a reason. Optimus 2X still runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and this is surely to be disappointing to many Optimus 2X user Lg still not provide further info hasn’t even had for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread software update yet.
