Download And Unlock Google Maps Navigation 5.8.0 In Unsupported Countries
Google already has one of the best turn-by-turn navigation systems around built into their Android Maps app — especially considering that it’s free. Still, there’s one key feature it lacks when put up against the competition: true offline navigation, for those times when a data connection just doable. Google maps navigation feature comes with everything you’d expect to find in a GPS navigation system, like 3D views, turn-by-turn voice guidance and automatic rerouting. But unlike most navigation systems, Google Maps Navigation was built from the ground up to take advantage of your phone’s Internet connection. So, Google Maps Navigation is an internet-connected GPS navigation system with voice guidance.
Unfortunately, Google Maps navigations still in beta releases stage and only provides free turn by turn navigation in the US but not everywhere across the world. Anyway, If you want to try this Google Maps navigations on your Android Phones, you can use it by manually unlock the Google Maps navigations functions. From previous reported, we know that Google has just released a brand spanking new version of its Maps app for Android 5.8.0. So, here is the instructions on how to enable Google maps navigation features on the latest Google Maps 5.8.0.
Step1: Go to settings> Application>Maps, then press the “Clear data” button and then press “uninstall” .
Step 2: Download Google Maps 5.8.0 Unlocked files (maps5.8.0-ownhere-testkeyresign.apk and maps5.8.0-ownhere.apk). then move this Google Maps 5.8.0 Unlocked files to your Android phones SD card.
Step3: Launch Astro file, search and click to install “maps5.8.0-ownhere.apk”. Then, search and click to install “maps5.8.0-ownhere-testkeyresign ”. ( Note: After u click maps5.8.0-ownhere.apk to install, you may get message show u that application not installed (Just leave it). Then Continues to install “maps5.8.0-ownhere-testkeyresign.apk” (message will show you application installed).
Step4: Once installation complete, reboot your Android Phones.
Step5: Click on the navigation icon to start Google Maps navigation function.
That,s all enjoy!If you want to add with Street views features, then you can download Street views from Android market.

Update 1:
For Google maps navigation, you can direct use the navigation by press the “navigation application icon”. But, for those who get the “Login Failed” message, and don’t get the three warning triangles . Then you can follow the instructions below to solve this “Login Failed“ problem.
1.Uninstall Google maps application. Then install original Google maps from market or manually install via .apk.
2. After installation complete, launches Google maps and sign in to join latitude.
3. Download TitaniumBackup (market link ,apk link). Note, TitaniumBackup only support rooted android phones. (Link: How to root Andoid Phones)
4. Install and launches TitaniumBackup app on your Android phones.
4.Then go to setting>application to wipe date and uninstall Google maps.
5. Install unlocked Google maps files. DO NOT RUN, reboot right after installing.
6. After reboot, go to titanium and restore DATA only.
7, That’s all. Now u can use Google maps navigation function on your Google maps.

Hi, My name is Erkan from Turkey.
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android Gingerbird v2.3.3.
I downloaded the Maps 5.8.0.apk from your site and did everything like you wrote.
When i start the Navigation it asked me to Navigation is beta like you showed and i sad continue but it sad “Google Maps Navigation is not yet available in this location”
when i check the google maps version it looks ok.
version 5.8.0
locale : en_US
What is wrong and how can i enable navigation function at my location.

The Google Maps was updated to version 5.9.0 ( Link: http://software2tech.com/2011/08/17/download-google-maps-5-9-0-ownhere-apk-unlock-google-maps-navigation-in-unsupported-countries/). So you must use the latest version Google Maps unlock Apk.
“Google Maps Navigation is not yet available in this location” mean u not success install the unlock version of Google Maps. I think this problem is because u install older version of google maps navigation(5.8.0). I have try on Galaxy S2, this Google Navigation work perfect. So, you try with the Google Maps 5.9.0. I have tried and follow exactly your step. And as what has Erkan been through, I have downloaded the latest version of Google Maps 6.0.0. But it seems like it came out the same note, “Google Maps Navigation is not yet available in this location”. Can you please help me with this, is there any correct link I should use?

Hi, Etty, which method you use? Method 1 or method 2. Method 1 ( )is better because it work on all Android devices.
“Google Maps Navigation is not yet available in this location” mean you are not success install the unlocked google maps on your Android devices. May be you are not delete the original Google Maps Apk, mean you still using the original google maps application. So delete the original Google Maps Apk and then reboot your Android devices.
Its should work.
